Greg Blatt’s Executive Leadership and Management
Greg Blatt, a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in English and Economics from Colgate University in 1990, also attended Columbia Law School and graduated with a Doctor of Law. Greg has served in several executive positions in the technology industry. At Tinder, owned by Match Group, Blatt served as their Chairman, CEO, and Executive Chairman. Match Group is under the IAC group of companies spread across 100 companies and deals in the internet and media.
Before moving to MSO, Greg Blatt served as an Associate at Grubman Indursky & Schindler PC between 1997 and 1999. From 1995 to 1997, Blatt also served as an associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, a well-known law firm in New York. At Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, he was an Executive Vice President in charge of Business Affairs and General Counsel.
Greg Blatt says that his official career started at Match.com, one of the best dating sites to hit the internet before it started experiencing a lack of growth and development due to finance and subscriber base. In 1993, Match.com was sold to IAC, the same year that Blatt started working at Martha Stewart Living as the general counsel. Greg Blatt claims that his time as an associate in corporate law was intense, especially when working at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz firm in New York City. Sometimes he would spend most of his days at the office without returning to the house.
From his experience in corporate law, he was determined to change to entertainment law and become an associate at Grubman Indursky Schindler PC. Greg Blatt took that position at the company with the thought of using it to his way into the entertainment industry and ended up with Martha Steward as their client. After joining Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, he was heavily involved in the company’s business.
