Doug Haynes, Managing Partner, Council Advisors

DoughDoug Haynes business career spanned over 40 years. His senior management experience includes 10 years with PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., and six with The Coca-Cola Company. Doug served as the President of Coca-Cola East into PepsiCo, where he was responsible for leading a $10 billion brand portfolio in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Today Doug is Managing Partner of Council Advisors LLC, a consulting firm based in Atlanta dedicated to identifying best practices for companies across industries and employment settings. Doug is a veteran of the US Navy Reserve and served on active duty from January 1975 to December 1979. He graduated from Georgia State University (Georgia State University) in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration.

He holds additional degrees from the Drake University Law School and J.W. Seegers College, as well as an MBA from the University of Georgia.

Doug serves as an Advisor to the board of directors for numerous companies and public-private partnerships, including Inova Community Virginia.

He currently serves on the boards of HealthShare of Georgia, Escheat Of Georgia, Global Citizen Atlanta and Greater Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

Doug also served on the Advisory Council of the Healthcare Leadership Institute at The College of William & Mary (the College). Doug is also a Lieutenant Commander in The U.S. Navy Reserve and served on active duty from January 1975 to December 1979.

He also served on the Advisory Board at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. Doug is married to Elizabeth (Betsy) Haynes and has three children: Matthew, Emily, and Charlotte.

Doug Haynes, Managing Partner of Council Advisers, was awarded the 2016 Corporate Mentor of the Year by Georgia State University’s Terry College of Business. The Alumni Society for the College, established in 1978 and still active to this day, is a forum for alumni whose alma mater is Terry College of Business. The Alumni Society of Terry College of Business helps to organize and promote the annual Terry College of Business 50th Anniversary Gala. Haynes was recognized as a Champion for Diversity in Executive Search by the University Professionals Foundation at Georgia State’s Terry College of Business during 2016.
